TAES Activity Clubs Listings

**Due to the global pandemic of COVID 19, there will be NO before and/or after school activities, clubs or programs until further notice from the Department of Education,  Department of Health, and APS.**


 

Archery Club

3rd,  When: Practice times are once a week. You have the 4 choices of days/times to sign up, students will pick one.

FYI: 

  • Please do not bring you personal bows or arrows. We use a standard Genesis bow.
  • Drop-off and pick-up will be at the gym. (Use the front entrance.)
  • Students need to attend every practice, there is a waiting list to get on the team.
  • The Competitive Team will be selected by practices attendance, shooting scores, and behavior. 

     

Board Games Club

Who: Calling all students K through 5th Grade.

What: Students will learn to play a wide variety of board games with a partner and/or small group. Students will play games like: Connect 4, Sorry, Uno, Mouse Trap, Candyland,

Coding CLUB

Who: Calling all students 3rd through 5th Grade.

What: Students will learn the basics of coding. Students will be using code.org and/or other applications for coding.

Chess Club

At Learners Chess, we teach chess to develop children's analytical, social, and leadership skills for success in the school and in life!

  • Promotes academic and life success.

Cross Country Run Club

Goal:

To promote running and fitness at Tierra Antigua Elementary School; to increase student physical fitness and to build self-confidence, self-esteem and positive social behavior but most of all to have FUN! Our goal is to reach 200 miles by the end of the year. 

Who: Students in grades Kindergarten through 5th Grade.

How

You must register your child for this activity, first. Then you will receive a confirmation email that your child is registered for the club. Once you received the confirmation email, your child can start run club.

What: 

The running club is a running program that records the number of laps that students complete. 5 laps around the PE course equals 1 mile. Students will have a mileage card, each card is 10 miles. Students will get a token every 10 miles. Every 10 miles the students will get their picture on the mileage wall outside the gym.

Youth Sports


Goal: Promote and teach basic and intermediate skills needs to play sports like Indoor Soccer, Floor Hockey, Basketball, Gold, and Lacrosse. As well, to build self-confidence in these sports.

Who: Students in grades K - 5th Grade. 

What: This the 1st year of the youth sports. We will look at basic returns, bumping and setting the ball and underhand serves. Students will work on skills with partners then in game play.

Lego Club

Bricks 4 Kidz Lego Model Building Class

When:

  • Classes meet for 6 weeks, then a theme will begin.

What:

  • Students build LEGO brick models complete with gears, axles, and motors like Pirate Ships, Alligators, and Rowboat.
  • Classes include teaching lessons, model building and creative free play with LEGO bricks.

Pacer Club

GOAL:

To promote aerobic endurance at Tierra Antigua Elementary School; to increase student physical fitness and to build self-confidence, self-esteem and positive social behavior but most of all to have FUN!

WHO: Students in grades 1st thru 5th.

WHAT:

The PACER (Progressive Aerobic Cardiovascular Endurance Run) Club assesses maximum aerobic fitness for each student. The 20-meter test involves continuous running between the two lines in the time to recorded beeps. The time between recorded beeps decreases each minute requiring an increasing pace. The students continue until they are unable to keep pace with the beeps. There are a total of 21 levels, which would take approximately 21 minutes to complete. Each week students will try to beat their previous record. Afterward, the coaches will hold various games (i.e. Fox Tail, Pac Man, Mr. Fox...) to play afterward.

What:

Students will participate in PE games like: Star Wars, Battleship, Pin Ball, Bombardment. Lifeguard, Rock-Paper-Scissors-Jump, Oscar the Grouch, Hungry Hungry Hippo, Show me the Money, Capture the Flag, Baseline Kickball/Teeball and  much more.

Razzle Dazzle

Razzle Dazzle

Razzle Dazzle is a non-profit organization. They have been in business for 25 years and have over 30 programs throughout APS and RRPS. Razzle Dazzle also offers All-Star cheer and dance programs. No tryouts are required for Razzle Dazzle School Teams.

Hello Firebird families! My name is Jen Cipta. I have been with Razzle Dazzle for 5 years now. My husband and I have 4 children - a junior and freshman at VVHS, a 4th grader here at TAES, and a 4 year old. Both of our daughters cheer for Razzle Dazzle's All-Star Cheer Program. I am grateful for the incredible opportunity to work with your children and I am ready for another successful year at TAES! 


Your Assistant Coach is Caroline Long.  Both returning for another awesome year! We are so excited for the experience, strength, and beauty that they bring to our team.

Spanish Club

Students will be able to count to ten and know the Spanish alphabet. Students will learn basic words and phrases in this language.
